The Unharnessed Power of Vulnerability

Join us for a conversation on the unharnessed power of vulnerability. Power starts from the inside out, and it is nurtured from the outside in. It is a two-way dynamic that applies to the individual and society. Nothing happens in a vacuum. The more vulnerable we are, the bigger is our potential of stepping into genuine power.

Our speaker, Cornelia C. Walther, PhD combines praxis and research. As a humanitarian practitioner, she worked for nearly two decades with UNICEF and the World Food Program in large scale emergencies in West Africa, Asia and Latin America. As lecturer, coach and researcher, Cornelia collaborates with various universities; including the Center for humanitarian leadership at Deakins (Australia), the Fachhochschule Muenster (Germany), the University of Palermo (Argentina) and Aix-Marseille’s Law faculty (France). Cornelia holds a doctorate in Law and is a certified yoga and meditation teacher. In 2017 she initiated the POZE dynamic in Haiti; which has since then benefited people on all continents. Recent books include ‘‘Development, humanitarian action and social welfare’; ‘Humanitarian work, social change and human behavior’; ‘Connection in times of Covid’, ‘Technology, Behavior and Social Change’ and Leadership for Social Change and Development. [Macmillan Palgrave/Springer, New York]. Cornelia currently lives between America and Europe taking on selected consultancies whilst expanding the POZE Network and working on the next book. She can be reached via 8poze8@gmail.com or LinkedIn.

Aside from her interest in the multiple shapes of influence, Cornelia's focus is on social transformation from the inside out, looking at individual aspirations as the point of departure. Her objective is to refine a methodology that influences people towards wanting to get involved in social change processes, rather than obliging them to act for the sake of others. In 2017 she initiated the POZE (Purpose – Optimization – Zeal – Experience) dynamic in Haiti, offering individuals tools to identify and pursue their aspirations. The network is now expanding into the Americas, Africa and Europe.
